Dayton River Clean-up

Our SKH Quest Center Dayton team took part in the July 9 & 10, 2011 Little Miami Riverkeepers 10th annual clean-sweep weekend. To-Shin Do warriors got to practice their cutting, lifting, and in-water action skills in community service on the Little Miami for two hours following Saturday classes.

The Little Miami River is Ohio’s first state designated scenic river, a title from back in the 1960s. Natural debris and man-made junk gathers to block water flow, and invasive plants like honeysuckle, grapevine, and Canada thistle choke out strong tree growth on the riparian corridor. The annual clean-sweep is one way to tackle those problems.

An-shu Stephen and Rumiko received a letter of appreciation from former Ohio first lady Hope Taft, a neighboring resident on the river and popular LMRiverkeeper organizer, saluting the SKH Quest group for their volunteer service along the banks of the river just east of Bellbrook.

May I have a high resolution picture with the group? It is rare to get good pictures of Wallace.
